Ideas for breather (crossram)

Looking for ideas for a breather for the right side valve cover. I don't want to buy the VERY expensive crossram air cleaner fitting.
http://www.heartbeatcitycamaro.com/s...In-The-USA%21/

I do have a factory style inline flame arrester but no way to connect from the air cleaner to the valve cover. My air cleaner is a repop wide base with out any holes in it. Anybody have an alternative fitting for the air cleaner base? My intake is a STR10 Edelbrock, so far from stock.

This is whom I buy my cross ram parts from...great guy and will work with you on pricing.

His parts are better then everyone else on eBay.

Any 3/4" push-in chrome aftermarket breather will work in the stock valve cover. Mr Gasket and others make these for under $10. Some are available with no name or markings.

Thanks for the comments! The problem with the push in breathers, is that the fuel log is in the way. I can do a factory elbow and hose, but that fitting seems to be expensive for a repop. I guess it is a suppy/ demand thing. Any other ideas?

I'd find a way to connect these. A PVC system needs to closed (routed from air cleaner to valve cover) to function properly, although open breathers will work. Find a 90 degree end that is threaded in the correct size (the one I posted is just an example).

is there a PCV valve in the other (left) valve cover? move that to the right side and put the push-in breather in the left side.

No vacuum manifold port on that side of the engine to run PCV on a cross ram. He might have it tide into the booster as well so really not an option.

Dave is right. I do have the pcv tee'd into the booster port. It's not pretty but works. I was looking for more of a stock-ish look. I never even thought of an AN fitting under the air cleaner. The chrome VC breathers would look a little out of place (not that the msd box and K&N style filter doesn't)

Use the flame arrestor breather. I used them on my race car for many years after I saw Grump using them on his Vega. No issues with them.
