Original '67 Chevelle SS396 4-Speed, Docs, Black on Red, Maybe Orig Paint?
|
That does look quite nice! I'm a sucker for red interior.
Per the ad, is it true you could order a 1967 without seat belts? |
Great post Tony. Gorgeous Chevelle!
I see some black paint around the edges of the VIN tag, where it looks like the tag was taped off. I’d check that out before assuming it wears original factory paint. |
Several clues that the paint is not original, I would guess the car has been "refreshed" at one time. L34 '67s used a holley carb, not Q-jet, and a list of other incorrect details. That said, looks like good bones for a restoration if the price doesn't get out of line. Or just do the details and drive it! Black/red L34/M21 with POP, Wow!

And don’t forget 4-speed too! Oh and tilt, tach, gages, clock, F&R guards, rear antenna too.
I’m not a fan of the aluminum alternator brackets and pulleys, and I the first thing I would swap is those ‘68 Center caps. Is there something funky with the lower tail panel trim, or is that just a photo effect? Does it look like the trunk has been re-spatter painted? Lastly, the dash looks a little too shiny with the black trim appearing like chrome?? I still really like the car. It looks amazingly straight. |
I love it. That alternator just doesn't fit in and would have to go. I've got most of the parts to fix the stuff that's not right, except for the money to buy the car. I love the '67 SS Chevelle.

Engine is clearly a restamp.

Sure looks like a 8" balancer to me.
And if it is, how much else was done inside. Good bones to start with for sure. Joe |
