does anyone know if the 1970 monte carlo big block used the same 409 master cylinder as the 1970 chevelle big block?

Yes
Most likely 3 variations like the Chevelle with "BB" or "BB" with Julian Date or No Stamp at all on a semi machined circle at the top edge.
409 also had a Julian casting date code underneath to help date them.

I parted a '70 monte some time ago, pretty loaded car with factory discs...had a BB coded master.
