Screen name request when selling vehicle
 

Anybody ever had a potential buyer of a vehicle ask for your Forum screen name so that they can research the history of the car by the posts and threads? Have you ever asked for the same from a seller? Just curious if this occurs very often.

Never had anyone ask me for that info, but I think it's a good idea if you're a buyer. Guy that I sold my GTO to last year already knew my name on the PY Forums. He commented that he searched back through all my threads to find out more info than what I had in the ad.

I can't recall the car, but about a year ago I was looking at a car on Ebay and for some reason(maybe it was in the "ads seen" section here and someone said the owner was a member) I thought the guy was a member here so I asked for his screen name.
The seller stated they were not a member here.

Just experienced this and used it to get some intel on a vehicle I was thinking about. It was a different forum but ended up telling me some info that caused me not to buy. So it was helpful
