'66 Mercury Marauder S55 Convertible, Factory 428/4-Speed

How cool is this car - these have some of the neatest looking bucket seats of any muscle-era car IMO. Power windows, too...can't imagine more than a handful of these were built with the 4-speed transmission.

That's a throwback to the 'underhood detailing' that was done about 35 - 40 yrs ago, which consisted of steam cleaning everything underhood and then spraying it all with a high gloss clear spray  Wasn't a fan of it back then and still not a fan today.

That car is Mercury's equivalent of the Ford Galaxie '7 Litre' model. Love the head of Mercury on the WS washer fluid container :beers: You're right, Tony, can't be many around.

What a cool car! I love the factory A/C dash.
I pulled a 65 hardtop Marauder out of the junk yard almost 20 years ago and the frame was so rusted out I had to buy a less rusted out frame from the car next to it and then repair it. So many of those 65-66 Ford Merc frames I found rusted out really bad.

The a/c vents blend into the dash so well they're almost imperceptible.

Rare for sure. In 67 there were 10 Monterey rags built with 4 speed and 428. That number includes S55s. I doubt 66 was much different.

Ask him how he knows this......

Clearly not a great time to sell a car, but the bidding on this one only reached $18k and change...so it 's been relisted in the link below, with a $55k buy-it-now price...

And...it's back again, in the link below.

Wonder what the true value of this one is today. If the dealership is consigning the car, there may be way more room in the asking price than you'd typically guess.
