'70 #s L78 Nova
I hesitated posting this because I know how Future Classics is 'revered' on this site, but this doesn't look to be a bad car (and I'm withholding any judgment on the asking price).

Question? We're Nova's ever shipped with black boosters? I see so many with the booster painted black that it always leaves me wondering if any Nova's, in particular, were shipped this way?

70 L78 Nova...
The engine, trans and rear end stamps look legit...the under the hood items need to be revised, but it appears all the important stuff is in place. Fisher sheets are correct for a 70 model...floor shift std. trans is indicated by the M20...the engine call out for the L78 would not be on this paperwork...trim tag matches the Fisher sheets.
I don't think the spare tire is oem...correct looking tire, but would most likely have been a Uniroyal Tigerpaw...looks like a rally wheel...so the SS ones on the car have been added. Seems like a decent car at a fair price...of course a hands on inspection would be a good idea. -wilma |
By the looks of the rear bumper -- someone may have been backing by feel at one time or another ... a very slight dimple ...

Is there something with the black 396 emblems and L78 cars? I have had several orig survivor L78 cars camaro and chevelle and a few had black 396 emblems instead of white ones?

Appears to be a different “W” stamp on motor versus trans?

A few elevation differences too, the 9 6 being most apparent. :hmmm: ~ Pete . |
Stampings...
There does seem to be a slight difference between the two stamps...in the smaller photos they look pretty good. Does anyone have photos showing similar stamps from that time period for a comparison?? I always thought there would be a slight difference in appearance based on the stamps and the two different metals...but the numerals should be the same size.
I guess I'll have to take my own advice and look at one of our cars....but, not today. :smirk: Great detectives on the SYC...that's why I always tell folks you have to see it in person. -wilma |
a good friend of mine told me these guys are very good at deception,
