'64 Studebaker Wagonaire, 289/3-sp Stick

Always loved these - purely due to the retractable roof. GM tried this with the Envoy 40 years later and found out buyers still didn't care...but the concept must have been so innovative in '64 that I can't help but appreciate the managerial courage it must have taken to get this program approved and out the door.

Doesn't hurt that this one is a stick, either.

Come to think of it, if you really squint, it looks a little like a chopped Jeep Wagoneer....

And you gotta love the little step built into the tail gait to help us shorter guys step up onto the tail gait. Another feature that GM decided to use decades later on the trucks; albeit the GM version is a bit more elegant.

Last year for the Studebaker engine in a Studebaker vehicle. The next year this car would have had a Chevy V8. Although the Studebaker guys refuse to call it a Chevy engine. They alway INSIST it is a McKinnon engine because they came from the McKinnon plant. Like there is any diff between a 283 built there or Fliint or Tonawanda.
