I’ve been going there since I was 16, they did a good carb, alt, or starter rebuild, there was a long wait list to get in to get your car worked on, now a restaurant, I don’t go there much, no parking and long waits. Rite when you walk in you see a Big Sun machine w/ a dist machine on, theres an old Chrysler neon clock, but after watching the video, it might have been added. Check out the video below, if you come into town, do check it out.

I snuck by there for a few pics before they did the remodel.

The "No Gas" signs juxtaposed with the electric/hybrid vehicle was not accidental.

Cool

Very cool. At least the original structure and signs remain. Reminds me of a great restaurant in LA called Laural Hardware. Went there years ago... the original sign and store front remained.

I wonder if the gas tanks are still in the ground. A pure gas station in Clawson was turned into a woman’s gym, the EPA showed up one day, and started digging, put her out of bussiness.

There were thousands of tanks removed back in the 90’s with Clean Michigan funds. I’m sure there’s still tanks in the ground, but at least a lot of them are gone. I had several customers I sold excavators to that made a pretty good living for several years doing removals and cleanups.

Nice addition.
I had a 73 AMC as a winter beater to put the TA away in 1979, it had a straight six 1BBl carb, I had Vinsetta rebuild it, it ran bad afterwards, the guy in the center of the pic, took it back off my car, took it all apart and did something, and then set it up for me, it then ran great, but he was a little pissed. Lol the car was a pc of crap and he didn’t want to work on it. I bought the car off a buddy for $50 and 2 end tables. Got it home with no brakes. I’d never do that today. Lol there was a C clamp holding the dr door shut, that’s another story. Lol
