Need help...key-in-ignition buzzer switch

Hi all,

Hoping the wealth of knowledge and experience on this site can help me correctly identify the GM PN and alternative superseded PNs that would be correct for the key-in-ignition buzzer switch in the tilt steering column for my 70Z. I have the Chevrolet Chassis and Body Parts Catalog dated April 1983, and from it, they have two PNs that apply:

7811093 69-70 All w/ T.W.
7811092 71-75 All w/ T.W.

Based on the GM Parts Book, I need the 7811093, but I am pretty sure there is no functional difference between the 70 and 71 tilt columns. I've tried using an aftermarket switch, but they are extremely fragile (two were broken upon receipt), so I've been looking for an NOS switch...have not been able to locate one yet.

Therefore, does anyone have any experience with the tilt column key buzzer switches to advise if there are any other GM part numbers that would work in my 70Z tilt column...or know of a source where I can get an NOS item?

Thank in advance for any help or assistance on this

LOTS of 1970-1975 corvettes built with Tilt column - I would check with those vendors.

Thanks James...my GM parts Book doesn't include Corvette, (different book), so I didn't want to assume they were interchangeable or the same.

I looked and most of the Corvette vendors are selling the repop part. Might try Doc Rebuild. He sometimes has Corvette NOS parts.

I was more leaning toward finding a NOS switch.

Thanks Dave. I found NOS PN 7811093s, but just wanted to be sure it was the correct switch for my application.

The old part number is 7804514 changed to 7811093 sometime between 1/1/76 and 12/31/81. Several old and new part numbers are available on ebay. It is the correct number for your application.
ThanX
