This thread discussed here awhile back pretty much explains the Alternator Fans.

Pictured to compare is the lower horse power Fan.
Also pictured is the other High Horse Power Fan that has the tiny hook on one blade showing the two variants of the High Horse Solid Lifter motor fans with one like mine.
