This is very sad news. RIP John you will be missed. I first learned about John in the NCR Camaro forums and his great knowledge, answering questions and his input. I emailed him a couple of months back about questions i had on Chevy heads. He was very gracious to write me back and give me info i was looking for. Great guy. We lost an icon. John's wealth of Chevy knowledge was incredible. I emailed him numerous times over the last 5 years about questions i had and he always answered me. Thanks John for everything you did in life.

John was so involved in the industry sharing intimate details and documenting the camaro build process for all to absorb and learn. He is a true industry and hobbyist icon. RIP.....

What a great guy. I never met him in person, but still feel like I lost a friend. He was always willing to help.

John will be missed by all of us. I spoke and emailed back and forth over the years with him. He always had the time.

There will be a 69 Camaro for you in heaven John.

My condolences to the family.

So sad. JohnZ, you were the best. There was no such thing as a dumb question. We had several conversations over the years, again even though we never met in person, I feel like I lost a good friend. Thank you for all you did John. RIP and condolences to his family. We both had the same vintage plates on our Z/28’s. 302

Sad news - he inspired a lot of us in the hobby. Fortunately the mark he made will live on.

I met john in the late 90’s at a Ncrs chapter meeting while he was outside smoking, I had no idea who he was, I asked him what he did for a living, he replied with some long title with plant manager and laughed, I said what does that mean, he replies, I have the keys to the viper plant, next question was do you own one? Why would I do that? A true Chevy guy to the core.

A few years later he had the Ncrs guys out to his garage mahal, the 69 Camaro, 67 vette and an import were there. On the wall is a viper intake manifold, I asked what the story was on it, he says, that is scrap and I have a receipt for it from Chrysler

He always had the right answer for any question somebody would ask him
