Welp, I shouldn't have gone on BaT

Now I'm in lust for another C10...:confused2: Not the best "restoration", but it's nice enough for the current price. https://www.yenko.net/forum/cache.ph...%3D940%252C627 |
Just can't help yourself, can ya?

Those '69-70 C10's are like a seductress to me. I love that body style.

Have to agree. I love that body style. The square body was a huge step backwards in my opinion. Have you ever seen a 67 with shaved door handles? Done right, they really look clean.
Although, I have to say, the fourth get truck looks really good. I always appreciate seeing a nice clean example that is truly cared for. Other than the crappy door hinges (which can be rebuilt.... but you expect them to last the life of the vehicle) not a lot of flaws. However, if I ever decide to go with a "real" pickup to replace my El Camino, which I have beefed up enough to use as a car hauler, the wife REALLY loves the 55 - 57 step side trucks, Chev or GMC. And with factory air and PS, not sure I can build a tri five pick up with as much comfort and utility as what I get from the El Camino. And, given all the projects I have lined up, I don't see finding time to build an old pick up to modern standards anywhere in my future. At least for now. |
My Dad bought a '67 new when I was 15. I drove it some while in HS. I like that style too, and guess I am odd man out, but I really like the small window cab of that year as well.
It's the grille on the '69-70 that grabs me over the other, similar years. I bought a rough looking '69 from a horse ranch in Denton, TX about 4 years ago and ended up selling it last fall to fund the upgrade of a pole building into a heated workshop. I hear ya on not having enough time left to get all the projects done. As of now, I need to live to 120 to get all my "stuff" done. https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds |
