Rear end ID
Trying to identify this 12 bolt that was used as a roller in my 71 442. Can’t seem to find anything on the RE code. The K indicates it was made by MCKinnon in Ontario and likely for a GMCanada application. I have no need for this but did not want to junk it if there is some value to someone.

'71 Olds would have the Olds 8.5 10 bolt, which has a 12 bolt cover. It's not the same as the Chevy 12 bolt. A picture of the whole rear end, including the cover, would help.

Pulled a couple Chevy style 12 Bolts out of Canadian Cutlasses over the years... not sure why but they were in there. Some 69's for certain.

To clarify, most were the O style but the odd one seemed to be a Chevy style

To clarify this is a chev 12 bolt that was in my car,not original to the car and not going back in. I only need to know to see if it appeals to someone looking for a 12 bolt for buildup purposes.

There is always value in an original Chev 12 bolt, even if it's only $200 as a buildable core.
The E may represent an Eaton posi. Do you know if it is a posi and what the ratio is ? I sold a core 12 bolt on here last fall and shipped it to TX via Fastenal. |

Guys
Appreciate all the info about what went into an Olds from the factory. I already know that. My question is; Does anybody know what the RE code is for on a Canadian built GM 12 bolt as described in the first post. |
