Brownfield heads question
The aluminum heads I have were ported by Brownfield in 1969. My machinist mentioned they had tags attached to the front of the heads screwed in them but are no longer there. I contacted Brownfield, now Air Flow Research with no response. My question is has anyone seen tags attached to vintage race car heads ported by Brownfield?

I've owned and observed quite a few old school ported heads from the '60s and '70s but I'm not remembering any that used removable tags for identification. That seems less than ideal. All that I have owned or remember seeing have had ID numbers/letters stamped directly on the head casting itself. I have not owned a set of Brownfield heads though so I guess I'm not really answering your question. LOL

Sounds like you have a nice set of vintage heads there Brent. Do you have any pictures of the heads you can share?

In the pictures you can see the slight cleanup in the intakes down only about 1 1/2". The small screw holes I believe had a tag per the machinist but who knows. The other holes had air hose couplers. The original owner said they ran hot water into the block because the aluminum motor lost heat to fast.
