'65 #s L79 Malibu (non Super Sport)
Very cool...red on red and just a base Malibu with the 350hp 327. Already bid to $29k with the reserve not met; guessing the price is somewhere close to $40k.
Love the acres of red in the interior. I'm not encouraged by the quality of the trunk resto - looks like the inner wheelwells have had some work - so I'd want to see the car firsthand before throwing a bid on it. The last one was listed as ALL NUMBERS MATCHING too but was not. Wrong Tranny. Wrong Rear. Trim Tag rivets from Home Depot.
Do your due diligence my friends :) |
The trunk pic says a lot....lipstick on a swine.

----Settle an argument I am having in my own head. Should there be any splatter in the trunk of a 65 Chevelle????.....Bill S

Yes, there should be spatter paint.
|
by the looks of the trunk, im guessing the rest of the car was a rot box
|
US built 64-67 Chevelles all had spatter paint. Canadian built had body color trunks (and firewalls and floors).
Same seller as the green SS L79 last week. Same quality issues too ... Is it a shadow, or is the paint significantly darker between left front wheel and mirror? |
Chevrolet killed those poor ‘65 non-SS Malibu’s when they slapped that giant ugly molding down the sides. Not only that but the mounting holes are HUGE.

Like the "soaking wet look" on the hoses..
