Perfect start to make a killer vintage car hauler. Look at the cab corners. When was the last time you saw a vintage truck (other than my Studebaker) with no rust in the cab corners.

That place has a LOT of rusted junk. This truck is a mess and way overpriced compared to the one Lynn posted. The only thing it has going for it, IMHO, is the big block.

Beautiful truck for the money, but his description of driving it home is misleading with bald tires and a truck that falls under Fed DOT regs. A compliance officer would have a field day writing violations and then it would get towed away.

I'd love to go get this but I don't know if it will fit on my trailer and there's no way I would risk driving it back.
I did the big truck on a trailer thing 10 years ago and got by with it. All the way back from Pagosa Springs CO. What a trip thru the Rockies in December...
Couple hundred miles of flat land would be a walk in the park after this.

I remember driving to Jackson Hole and back to OK in January 1981. Bought a set of tire chains at Western Auto. Lucked out and never put them on. Returned them to the store still in the box when I got home.

Agree; I wouldn't attempt to drive it home on those tires.

My Studebaker fits on my 18 foot car hauler just fine, but it is only 131 wheelbase. I am certain this C50 is longer.

I have a set of lights and harness that I clamped on the back of the flat bed to be, mostly, legal. The sellers were trying to talk me into buying chains, but the temp was coming up and the roads were seeing some blacktop by the time I left, so I declined. Going back up Wolf Creek Pass, I was regretting that decision... :eek2:
BUT, I made it. If I had it to do over, I'd put chains on.
Thought I had a pic from the back, but can't find any. You can see the lights on the end of the frame rails here. This was at a rest stop in IA.

It doesn’t look like it has power steering. What a bear to turn that truck.

The ratio on these trucks is about 25:1 and isn't as bad as it might seem. It does help to be rolling a little though...:wink:

Keeping the king pins well greased is a must and another key element of the effort involved.

I sent a message to the seller asking for a pic of the tag on the glove box door and the weight tag on the pillar. Now there is a notice on the listing that he is away until the 12th...sigh... might be a good thing and I'll forget about this.








But, most likely not...:smile:
