I wonder if the restoration can be justified on this car, it is rare and appears complete.

you can see rust on parts that don't normally rust, top of the rad cradle. So if that is the case, how much rust is there in the birdcage and trailing arm area.
I think you would be upside down on this real quick, would end up as a parts car and there is not too much of that...

Being in Fl it could of got very wet!

A swimmer, I never heard that, Bill. In that case, best to stay away as the engine is probably shot.

To me, the interior doesn't indicate being submerged...no evidence of silt or extreme rust on components. All the rust under the hood can be from the salty rain and humidity they live in. If it was parked in a brick building, which there are many for hurricane codes, it would explain the rust on everything under the hood. The blotchy paint is a curiosity to me. Is that from the salt air penetrating the layers of fiberglass over time ?

----Tim,,,That's a southern Florida term due to the number of cars that have been immersed in H20 (salt, brackish or fresh). My good buddy from Ft. Liquerdale, Chet, once bought a 67 swimmer from a salvage auction. Big block with AC coupe that had been stolen with less then 1,000 miles. It was found in a relatively deep pond underneath two Cadillacs and had been there since 67. He sold it to another Corvette shop and they ended up restoring it. Car was born white with brt. blue interior just in case you are looking at one in that color combo,,,LOL!. Both the trans and rear when opened up showed no H20 intrusion. Of course the engine and everything else was a mess! That's south Florida back in the 60's-70's time period.....Bill S

I’m not convinced it has been in a flood. I’ve owned a few Michigan cars that came out of 30+ year barn storage where nearly every square inch of the engine bay was coated in surface rust, not unlike this car.
