DYI Brake Line Kit?
Hi All,
Does anyone have experience with DYI Brake Line Kits? I need a short line (for a non-muscle car) which is not reproduced. Would prefer something Made in USA. Thanks for all recommendations! Dan |
If you aren't looking to make an exact replica, the NiCopp stuff is REALLY easy to work with. When I did the engine swap in my 49 Studebaker farm truck, I bought a couple of those to relocate the front brake lines.
I did a search and cannot find a definitive answer regarding country of origin; so I assume China. They do meet the necessary SAE standards (at least NiCopp brand does). That's what they sell at O'Reilly's. https://www.agscompany.com/products/...per-brake-line |
BIG second on the NiCopp brake lines. Very easy to form, even complex, curves and reform the double flare after cut. I still recommend a bending/forming tool, or it will kink in a tight curve by hand. Having a hydraulic flaring tool makes this material even better, as I've never had one leak when done.
