Can this 302 block be repaired?

I am looking at buying a 68 Z and the original block that comes with the car is cracked, I was told years ago it could not be repaired, but now with today's technology it could be. If it can be repaired, what would be the cost?

Sleeve and a helicoil/thread insert should take care of it.

Yes, it can be repaired. A sleeve will take care of the cylinder. Cast iron crack repair plugs should take care of the deck. A Jergens thread insert will fix the hole. Talk to a good machine shop and get their opinion because they will be the ones to do the work.

Indy Cylinder Heads had an oven that they used to weld cylinder heads. I don't know if they can do blocks too, but you might ask.

Thanks for all the responses. I am in PA so I have a few choice machine shops to consider. When the engine failed years ago, it ruined the cylinder head so I am looking for a single 291 head dated no later that June 12, 1968

They do it all the time t our local machine shop…..they can “pin it” without any issues. It may have to be sleeved as others have mentioned.
