Color coded fuses.
 

First pic is the fuse box in her "OLE BLUE" 69. Third week Feb Baltimore car.

Next pics are a couple 1968 Chevrolet NOS fuse kits.

Question is I have been digging into this and it seems 20 amp ones are plain. Found colors for other sizes not used in this car but 20's are always plain??

What say you?

Color coded fuses started in 1967 using a colored strip inside the glass tube-reproductions have a colored band OUTSIDE the glass.

4 amp pink
10 amp red
20 amp clear (no color)
25 amp white
30 amp green

Seems the short 4 amp is not colored?

Was aware of repops not being right. Kinda normal actually.

Will post good pics when the kits get here. Just bought them.

Kinda expecting bad on the kits but for $80 i can stand the gamble.
Not a car person selling them.
Will post results when here.

Dead match.

Found the higher class repops are painted inside also.

Nothing else matches though. Look at the bars inside.
Look at the lettering stamped into fuse housing.

Coin and Gun collecting background really helps on this minutia stuff.

Ran across a 1967 Olbs version of this without colored fuses??

Both kits here now. NOS 4amp shorts and Olds kit also.
