Original Factory Installed Delco Oil Filter

1 Attachment(s)
I recently bought (2nd time) a 6 speed 1999 30 Anniversary Trans Am with 249 miles. I purchased the car from it's original owner last year. Does anyone have a pic of the factory installed PF44 GM was using in period?

The purist in me hates to take off the original if it is indeed the original.

Thanks,
Tim

Assembly line filter are an ongoing debate among ODs and Pontiac restorers. Unlike Chev who appear to have used a black stencil AC filter for assembly line only,Olds and Pontiac are unknown. Olds engines appear to have heavy overspray on the filter at engine assembly and were not identifiable like the Chev ones.
As your Firebird is a 1999 the blue filters were likely all the same. In you photo I don’t see any paint in the area, your filter may be the original.

Original stuff is cool. An oil filter that will most likely self destruct and cause catastrophic engine damage is not worth keeping on the engine. Replace it and display it….sure.
