Yes. The Corvette vendors have one that works very well.

JMHO, but the upper ball joints seldom wear out on first gen Camaros. Lowers are good for about 40k miles.

Replacing just the boot is a great way to do it so that you don't have mess with making the rivets look correct.

Here are mine. Probably "over restored".

ok how do you remove the ring to replace the boot or what is the process to replace it thanks

Lynn 01-20-2025 05:01 PM

It has been 12 years. I don't remember removing a ring. IIRC (BIG if) I just peeled the old one out, cleaned all the grease out, and installed the boot, tucking the lip up into that retainer.

I dissagree that the original boot can be removed and new/replacement boot
install WITHOUT removing the ring.........I carefully pryed slowly, repeatedly, round and round on bottom edge of ring to pry it up and off the ball joint.......and still had to deburr it abit before reinstalling .....Also used a small diameter flapper wheel to polish ID of Retaining Ring....

I'd sure like a part number at ZIP Corvette or Corvette Central to find a correct replacement rubber boot , but I will search myself.............

Chuck is likely correct. It has been well over a decade since I want down this road.

Thanks for that replacement boot lead.....that ZIP Corvette sells

I am still searching for 1970 Camaro 1st design Upper Joints that are welded
together, NOT Riveted
