Wanted 512 block

Ok, so a needle in a hay stack!

Wanted, 3963512 4 bolt engine block. Must have a Tonawanda date stamp of T1205CRR or older and with factory broach marks. Same thing for the casting date requirement. Must be an original 4 bolt main block with original external oil cooler hole and not a made up block or altered casting date. Must be an original Tonawanda stamp and not a restamp. Must be rebuildable and with no cracks. Now the biggie, cannot have a VIN stamp on the deck. One that is above the oil filter on the bellhousing flange would be ok. This will need to be shipped to Canada. Please PM, email or call me only, with what you may have. ricknelson427 @ hotmail.com six one two 578 four zero zero 7.

I don’t think that is an unrealistic ask. A lot of boats came with that mill. You may have to buy a whole V Drive boat.

I'm guessing that you don't want a CE block?

The customer prefers not. He got docked points for having a non original engine in his car and wants to replace it with the correct dated and assembly dated engine but as I told him, it would still not be the original engine so it will not gain him any points back. I do what I am asked to do so here we are. He is totally against restamping blocks so I am ok with it and this being a well known car that would not fly anyway.

There is a 512 block for sale on "Chevrolet engines and engine parts for sale" facebook page. It's claimed to be never stamped with the broach marks.

Thanks Freddie but that casting is way too late for the needed car plus there is no Tonawanda stamping so that will not work. I do not restamp blocks or condone them so this will not work but thank you for sending that information.

After looking at it again I don't see any broach marks. I think it's been decked and stamps were removed. He claimed that the broach marks were still there.
