Just when you’ve convinced yourself that the last car you bought is the last one you’re going to buy……. Local guy has owned this car forever. He’s moving into a retirement community & can’t keep the car. Real 427/425.

I saw somewhere that the '66 cars were actually 450hp. Were there 425 and 450, or was the information that I saw just wrong?

Great car, Bruce. I'd love to see a pad picture.
Some paperwork shows 450 horse, the 450 horse never showed up on an air cleaner, GM snuffed out the 450 horsepower shortly after it was started and before car production.
I have paperwork showing the L72 as 450 horse and even showing the L36 as 400 horse.

Bergy, original drivetrain? Tags? Nose?
For sale? Looks great

The car has a SB in it now. Owner has the BB which I looked at, but is buried in the garage. I just brought home the car, BB side pipes, knock offs (repro), and all of the BB engine brackets on this trip. Only thing missing is the carb (darn!) & alternator. Original trans and AZ rear are in it. Car was located in Lititz, PA.

Not for sale now. Gotta get it back to the original configuration & run it around some.

----I vividly remember going to Heintzelman Chevrolet in Medina Ohio to look at my cousins brand new 66 427 solid lifter yellow roadster. The car's vin # (700 even) was at that time irrelevent to an 18 year old, but I knew it was one of the 1st 1966 Corvettes delivered. My cousin Dave and I went over the new Vette at the dealership for probably an hour, and I can say that the air cleaner lid was black and it only had a 427 emblem on it. Much later in to 1966 I had ordered my 66 and took delivery in about April, and when my cousin 1st saw it he claimed my car had to be slower than his as it lacked 25 horses., but he was pissed as I had a chrome air cleaner lid....Bill S
