Is there a market for a used, original 1970 LT1 Camshaft 3972178, at what $$$$$$...No Lifters !!!!!!!!

How/Where/Who can verify that's its condition, if it "LOOKS" Good ????

Get a new one by a good company made in USA !

Old school nos means good metal, even though they can match the lt1 specs with new cams. Got to be wary of a new solid tappet without a roller option.

If you are looking to sell it, I would be inclined to at least measure and state for buyers, using micrometers or similar, each lobe height as evidence of no wear. It can then be easily determined the amount of total lift against the spec of .459 intake and .485 exhaust. I did this on my original cam and found it to be within 0.002 of spec, but still went ahead and replaced it with a now discontinued Crane 119051 blueprint cam.

1) If good machine shop can confirm the specs you gave
2) If it checks out what is the range of pricing/value
3) What are current LT1 builders buying if they are putting
together a OEM build 1970 LT1 engine

Call Oregon cam grinding in Vancouver Wa......he'll be glad to help you identify the core as oem if you haven't already. I'd reuse an old cam that specs out far before I'd buy an off the shelf cam. OCG will also regrind your cam to factory specs or whatever you choose for $100. I wouldn't think it's worth more than $50 on the market, but if I was searching I'd probably pay a bit more than that.

Original cam has 2182 cast into it along with the brown paint mark. Has a date code also.
