I just performed a Vintage Inspection on a very rare one of 272 built. Complete original drivetrain, engine L89 MT coded, M21 with 410 positraction. The owner did much of the work. One final exterior piece is install the white vinyl top. More detail to come after I finalize my inspection report.

I looked at this car in 82-84 when it was for sale. Unfortunately the seller decided to keep the car!

What a find.

This is in no way meant to be critical.... but looks like the wheel and tire are just a bit too far forward in the wheel wheel. Same thing happened to my Z in 1977. The alignment pin locating dowel had broken for some reason and the axle started to creep forward on one side. Easy fix.

Helped a guy about 15 years ago try to find documentation for his 68 L89 purchased new by his dad. Engine was MIA.
Never could document it, but pretty certain it was originally an L89.

This was Bob's first restoration and installed and welded all the sheet metal. He did 80% himself , but farmed out painting and had McBetts rebuild the engine.

He and his brother purchased the car in 1994, and the plan was to restore it together. Unfortunately his brother passed two years later and the restoration plan was shelved for 29 years. Bob finally had the time and in 18 months finished the car this May. His brother would be proud of the finished product.

Pretty car. Well done restoration. Congrats to the owner and agree his brother would be very proud.

Nice car! Looks like the twin to my car. Wish my L78 was a L89. LeMans Blue is the best color, with Rallye Green a close second IMO. Then of course Hugger orange in 1969 is my favorite color. Can't wait for more pics
