Which Electric trailer jack to buy ?
Gentleman I have a 28’ enclosed car trailer that Im wanting to buy an electric jack ( tongue) for ! Anyone have any recommendations. The ratings are all over the place. What lifting power should I buy. It mostly will have one of my 69 chevelles in it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Can't recommend a brand, but when you find one see if it will allow you to rotate either the head or the mounting flange 90degs, that way you can open your tailgate all the way without it hitting the electric jack.

I've never seen an electric jack that will swivel and just did a quick search and they are all solid mount near the front of the tongue. On etrailer.com there are a few swivel jacks that the handle comes off and you can operate it from a power drill.

This is what I was referring to:
first and easiest way to do it is if your jack mounting plate has the common symmetrical 3-bolt flange is to just unbolt it and rotate it 90degs (towards the drivers side) so that the large electric jack head does not interfere with the tailgate shown in the picture. Second way to do it is if your jack has a non symmetrical mounting flange then you can unbolt the electric jack head and rotate the electric jack head 90degs, most are predrilled with a second set of bolts, if not then you can easily drill them out as shown in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5S4u0bikvI |
