'69 amc 4-SPEED gearset
Last year I purchased a 4-speed shifter I've been looking for and it had what looked to be a first design super t10 bolted to it. March of '69 casting date on the g.m. cast iron t10-1b case. The assembly stamp pad was intentionally fubar'ed so last week I dug into it. I found a very nice 2.23:1 AMC close ratio gearset only offered in the AMX and Javelin with the 390 c.i. engine. '69 only?? The 7/8" pin cluster gear is 26-21-18-18, and the input is 22 teeth with 10 splines and no grooves. 27 spline mainshaft.
If anyone is interested in this gearset for their own project, I can take a few pics for you. The cost will be U.P.S. shipping from Mishawaka Indiana 46545 to your location.. The case and cast iron tailhousing are boat anchors, so I'm only offering the gearset. Dave |
Yes that sounds like a V code AMC T10. AMC used the same trans and gearset in everything, the only changes are based on the year. But anything 69 and later used the “close ratio” 2.23 first gear trans. I will send a PM as I will happily take this and give it a good home. I’ll take the boat anchor cases if you don’t want them as well.
