battery cable/hose clamps

I have a couple of questions:

1. Is the correct grounding position for the negative battery cable on a 1969 camaro, X44, small block 307 on the altenator bracket? Or somewhere else? I've looked at a lot of photos and I keep seeing it in different places.

2. I'm trying to find some original style clamps for fuel lines, heater hoses, etc. Does anyone know where to purchase these online? (the kind that have a screw sticking straight up at a 90 degree angle)

Thanks for your time and help.

1. The negative battery cable should be attached to the thermostat housing (V8), left side stud/bolt.

2. The correct hose clamps can be bought from a number of suppliers - Ricks First Gen, Year One, D&R Classic, etc. They all have online catalogs. Look them up and get them to send you a paper catalog or order online.

drdave, thanks so much for the information. I just wanted to get it correct and I've seen so many different places people have that cable attached.

Let me ask you this if you don't mind:

Was the temperature sending unit originally in the thermostat housing or in the manifold?

thanks again

Of the 350s and 302s that I have owned, the temp sender is in the drivers side cylinder head near the 1 & 3 plugs.

OKC...right and left sides of a car are usually considered as you are sitting in the car looking forward. So Passenger side is right side. That is the side of the Thermostat housing that the cable goes on. I think DrDave means the same place but is looking at it from in front of the car.

Re: battery cable/hose clamps

as Dave said there is a special combination bolt/stud to hold the bat cable. Some people just use a regular bolt and it doesn't look right.
