Chevelle Question......
So why do most people refer to the COPO Chevelle in 69 as COPO 9562? And when I look at all the Canadian micro films they refer to the COPO Chevelle as COPO 9566?????

Re: Chevelle Question......
There were 8 different COPO 9562 Codes available for the 1969 13637 Chevelle. Each had its own 2 letter suffix.
All had the L-72 427/425Hp Engine, and either an M-21.M-22,or TH400 Trans.among Various other components. On top of that were two more Codes.Code 9566 AA & BA. These were exceptions for the RPO L-78 Tires,be it Man. Trans,,or TH400 respectively. Rick |
Re: Chevelle Question......
I think that the only 9562 COPO cars were the ones with the 9739 COPO option. All the Canadian paperwork that I have seen has shown 9566AA. As for the L78 tires, that seems to be a mystery. Our COPO Chevelle came with F-70X14 white lettered Uniroyals. Our L78 Chevelle came with PW7 white wall tires. There certainly doesn't seem to be anything L78 special about them. Any thoughts? Re: Chevelle Question......

Re: Chevelle Question......
Our COPO Chevelle with the white lettered F70 Uniroyals has no mention of ZP1 only ZP8, ZV6 and ZN1.

Re: Chevelle Question......
OK... I'll answer my own question. 9566 was the COPO # assigned to the cars that came with 14 inch tires and 9562 ws the # that was assigned to the cars with 15 inch tires. That is why the Yenkos are refered to as COPO 9562 cars. I should check my own research before asking questions!
