T-3 Headlights
Looking for an original set of T-3 headlights for 69 Camaros. Must be in good working condition. Thanks.

Re: T-3 Headlights
These come up on E-Bay now and then.....When did AC Powerbeams start in production cars ?

Re: T-3 Headlights
There are some NOS ones on EBAY right now, they are slowly coming down in price.
I believe the Powerbeams started in late '70 or early '71. We had originally thought that the deuces had Powerbeams since they are all built in late May and early June. However, several original condition deuces have their original T3's! |
Re: T-3 Headlights
my 701/2 z28 with a march build date had the original power beams. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

Re: T-3 Headlights
If that's the case, then it might be a model or plant specific thing as to when the changeover occured. Kurt should have the Camaro changeover date nailed down!

Re: T-3 Headlights
Nope.
I'm not the expert on this topic, but it looks like they intermingled usage of T3 and Powerbeams. In fact, one original 69 Camaro was found with one of each. But limited data shows most 69's were T3's. |
Re: T-3 Headlights
Maybe a stupid question.. but was there any difference between the power-beams vs. the T-3's aside from visual differences? Were the power beams advertised as an improvement over the T-3 (brighter, longer lasting, etc) or was it just a new name for the factory headlights? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: T-3 Headlights
I have a pair of NOS T3's, which I think are 69. Not sure how to read the codes. PM me if interested.

Kurt;
So, some cars have mixed lights? That's interesting, I think an original owner deuce was a mixed set, but we assumed he changed one - even at 12k miles! Maybe not! MikeA; what is on your deuce? |
