Motor Wheel Spider mag wheel info

I am considering buying a set of the Motor Wheel Spiders as seen here https://www.yenko.net/attachments/59340-spiders.jpg

Turns out one may have a some rust, but the lugs are included. Are they specific to these wheels? Do these wheels have any significant history on supercars, or are they just a neat vntage mag?

Thanks for any info guys!

Paul,
I saw another one of these wheels on E-bay (Item # 2472031676).
Just in case you need to replace the rusted one.

My understanding is that these wheels are Chrylser wheels and came on chrysler Imperials back in the day,and YES they have a chevy bolt pattern. At least this is what I have been told by a few Mopar guys. They do resemble the Mopar Rally wheels a lot,I found three of them on e bay # 2472117955 but the guy says they are 15"X7" not 14" wheels.I personally think they are a very nice looking wheel, but I have always been partial to the Mopar Rally wheels. When I took delivery of my 69 Dart Swinger the first thing I did was put a set of the Rally Wheels on it!It looks so cool with those wheels.

Motorwheel "Spiders" were an aftermarket wheel available through speed catalogs and parts suppliers, like Honest Charley, your local speed shop, the Yenko parts counter etc. They were never a "factory" application on anything, Chrysler or otherwise. Motorwheel made several different styles of wheels, including the sought after "Flys" which were a very lightweight, even reversible wheel intended for drag racing use only, due to their lightweight construction that was prone to breakage during hard cornering. They also made the "Magnum 500" wheel which has since been dubbed the "SS" wheel by the Chevelle crowd. The Magnum 500 was used as a production wheel by Ford, Mopar, and Chevy alike, as well as being sold as an over the counter wheel in several sizes and finishes, chrome and painted, for use on things like the Yenko Deuce or whatever you felt like putting them on back in the day. Motorwheel made some cool wheels for sure, and I'm surprised they didn't take off better being that Motorwheel was actually a subsidary of the GoodYear Tire & Rubber Co. They were even the "prime rim and wheel supplier for military vehicles in Vietnam" according to Goodyear's corporate history website. They've all but faded off into obscurity these days though. Neat wheels though for sure. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Bobby...the MoPar guys may have been talking about these...they are known as "recall" wheels because Chrysler pulled them from RPO due to structural problems and gave owners a choice of replacemet caps...very rare to see a set on the street and they are pretty valuable...my 69 Charger 500 had them.

I know if anyone had any reliable information on the wheels you guys would.I have just started with the Mopars and am trying to learn what I can.I have learned that parts are very expensive but if you want to Play you have to Pay!Thanks for setting me straight about the wheels.I just thought that the Mopar guys might have been on to something being they do look similar to the Mopar rally wheel in some aspect.By the way Belaire, the Hemi Charger you let get away is an awsome looking ride!I want a Charger sometime in the future, when I finish the projects I have going on now.The Wife has told me I can't buy any more cars until what I have is finished.Thank goodness I have an alternative place to store things that she don't know about. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif like the 66 Dart race car and a 68 Dodge truck I just acquired!
