Did he say if the engine code was JD and does it have the VIN on the block? That would be a start to verify the L78.

I e-mailed the owner and he said the following:

"The guy that owned the car before me lost the trim tag.
The motor number is a 68 396/375. I don't know the tranny number or the rear number. It's a Muncie M21 and a 12 bolt rear. I replaced the rear quarter panel with GM replacements remover the front clip sandblasted & painted the frame back to the firewall. I Rebult the
motor, tranny, and rear. I painted the car back to the original color Dusk Blue. The interior in blue metallic."

Seemed awfully open ended to me.

Seems to me, that if you were going to rebuild the motor, tranny & rear, you'd probably bother to actually write down the numbers when it's all out of the car. :-)

I e-mailed him to sounds to weird the block number is from a 350 hp 68 chevelle it is probably fake and with no cowl tag who knows-asked if it had a factory tach and no response oh well sure I will find one somewhere
