BE rearend question

1 Attachment(s)
Ilooked at a rearend that has been laying around for a while. The rearend is being sold as a Camaro 12 bolt no mention of it Being a BE. The axle code is BE1125G2 with a cast date of K228. It seems early to be a little early for a BE. Anyone ever see one this early. Any opinions on the numbers. Here is a couple pictures of the numbers.

Re: BE rearend question

I don't think that the casting date is too early, the first 9560 cars were built before the end of calendar year 68.

Re: BE rearend question

Yes, Your theory of K 22 8 is an acceptable build date casting for a BE! Notice that your 1125G2 is 3 days later from that casted date... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: BE rearend question

If I am not mistaken, wasnt there a delay in the manufacturing/assembly of some of the parts to be due and distributed to meet that Dec. 31'st deadline? I recall something along this idea and I don't remember the parts that were holding things up...??? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
