67 L78 Camaro eBay
Cool, a Bolero Red L78. Needs a lot but...
Anyone here have a '67 L78 Camaro? Love to see one all restored (or stock original). http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...TRK%3AMEWA%3AIT |
Re: 67 L78 Camaro eBay
I heard this car is shot. The winning bidder is buying a trim tag and that's about all.

Nice car. L35 with CA smog still in place. Looks like the factory BB fan shroud too. No way that car is unrestored though, that paint looks waay too nice. Plus, that rear spoiler is an add-on. Still, a Bolero Red SS 396 is hard to beat.

1967 Camaros were not factory-built with rear spoilers.

How can you tell that the spoiler is an add on? [/ QUOTE ] The spoiler package was developed during the '67 Z/28's development. Pre-release press and factory photos show the prototype Z with a flat-back trunk spoiler. My best information, which I read on the Camaro Research Group site, is that spoilers became available over-the-counter at the very end of 1967 model production. Yes, currently-available 1967 assembly manuals do show spoilers and how they were mounted, but remember that the manuals were constantly being revised and updated. The reprinted 1967 manuals you can buy nowadays are the 'final' fully-revised versions from the end of production and that's why spoilers are listed. When I see a 1967 Camaro with spoilers I always think "spoiler abuse." Because the 1st-Gen spoilers look so good, they get affixed to darn near every 67-69 car, even 6-bangers. It's refreshing (IMHO) to see a '67-'69, especially a '67 performance model (SS, Z) with no spoilers. BUT, if I were looking for a '69 Z/28, I'd want spoilers. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif I went off the top of my head with this explanation and I welcome further clarification and/or correction! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif |
