crossram intake
 

What is a SY1 intake.Aguy locally has one and says he has owned it 28 years.It is a cross ram but has only a single 4 barrell top plate on it but can be converted.Is this thing worth anything.He is asking $700.00 for it,is this by chance the sought after crossram intake or not.

It' a Edelbrock single 4 barrel intake fashioned after a crossram in that it has a large plenum and a removable top. It's called a "Smokey Ram", supposedly developed by Smokey Yunick.

$700.00 ain't too bad a price if it's stuffed with fives and tens.

Thanks for the reply,I know absolutely nothing about those crossrams etc! I kind of doubt the guy will stuff it for me so I am going to pass on it.Thanks very much.Don't even know what I wanted it for I don't even own a small block chevy except for my wifes suburban and if I put something like that on it she would kick me in th rear.
