Engine Lifting Brackets
Did all engines have lifting brackets? If so what color would they have been on a 302 engine? Thanks.

Re: Engine Lifting Brackets
I'm pretty sure all engines had them and they were painted engine color (orange in this case).

Rob, You seem to be fishing for help. Do you need help on a resto for a 1969 Z/28. If you do, just ask! Sam

Re: Engine Lifting Brackets
I would lean towards orange colored if on a Cast iron intake engine.
On the majority of the BB solid lifter/Aluminum intake engines, they would appear to be natural colored, not painted orange. But I wouldn't put that in stone,as some BB unrestored solid lifter cars have been seen with orange painted pull hooks on their aluminum intakes,so maybe some Cast iron intake engines received natural hooks as well. Human beings built them.. |
Re: Engine Lifting Brackets
ALL the survivor cars I saw had orange brackets.

Re: Engine Lifting Brackets
I would agree with MR70 as I was told that Z's had them Natural/Cast not Orange, but as he said. Not set in Stone. Mine was Orange and was told by a pretty reliable source that it should be cast, so I repainted it Cast. Now I'm second guessing myself again after all this discussion!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
