Question for Holley Experts...

Took my 70 red L78 out for a spin today after some detailing and updates. Installed an original 4557 that had been rebuilt and refinished. Had to stop quickly once and the engine stalled. Started right back up and drove fine. Any thoughts on what to check??? Figured I'd start with float levels, but not sure where to go from there.

Re: Question for Holley Experts...

I would check Rear float and check how tall the rear vent tube is. Back in grogs day we would put a piece of rubber hose from front vent tube to rear vent tube. (be sure to cut a notch in rubber hose) to stop this problem on burnouts and launches
Thanks Larry

yep sounds like a float level problem being set to high.i also would put a piece of vacum hose between bowl vents to keep fuel from sloshing out of them into the venturis. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif
