RA III ?
1 Attachment(s)
I have been offered a -71 Le Mans with a -69 GTO engine in it. They say it´s got RA III heads, intake and exhaust manifolds. How do I determine if that is the case ?

Re: RA III ?
I forgott: they said they took the manifolds off a Judge in the mid seventies. The outlet is 2½" big.

Re: RA III ?
In 69 all the 4V intakes were the same except for the RAIV. The #48 head was the RAIII head as well as the standard head on a stick shift GTO. I cant really tell for sure what is the head # in the picture( maybe 96 ). If you list the part numbers or casting #'s of what is there I can tell you what you got for sure. Jim

Re: RA III ?
69 RA IIIs had 48 0r 62 heads,70 RA IIIs had 12 or 13s.The RA engines had a touch more cam and diff exhaust manifolds. The intake manifolds were the same for all 69-70 engines RAs except RA IVs.Tom

Re: RA III ?
Looks like what we have here is a pair of ultra rare Ram air II heads if not the whole engine. Can you give me the code on the block?? The exhaust manifolds are 70-71 Ram iv-455ho manifolds. I'll bet the engine runs pretty good! The intake is different for 69-70. The webbing in the center of the intake is closed on 70's. Looks like you have a 68-69 intake. Nice score! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: RA III ?
The car is too far from me to go there and look at the numbers myself. I´ll see if I can get them before the car is delivered.
Can you tell me the difference between a Ram Air II head and a Ram Air III ? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif Anders |
Re: RA III ?
Ram II= ROUND PORTS. Ram III= common D-port heads. GO get the car! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif
