68 Camaro shoulder belts

I tried to get this question answered in a different post but it got lost in the other replies. How rare are 68 Camaro shoulder harness seat belts? I didn't think they were rare as I have had 3 cars with them but more than 1 person here has mentioned them as such.

It all depends on which belts you're referring to.

For 1968, there were 22,988 Coupes built with the AK1 "Custom Deluxe Seat and Shoulder Belts".

There were 70 Convertibles built with the AS1 "Standard Front Shoulder Belts".

There were 109 cars built with the AS4 "Custom Deluxe Rear Shoulder Belts".

There were 24 cars built with the AS5 "Standard Rear Shoulder Belts".

There were 222 Convertibles built with the A85 "Custom Deluxe Front Shoulder Belts".

So you can see the numbers vary with the model (Coupe -vs- Convertible), and the style (Standard -vs- Deluxe).

NOTE: This information was taken from Jason Scott's "Carmaro Restoration Guide (1967-1969) and may have errors. The CRG shows conflicting data so you might want to go with that. It's porobably more accurate... Make sure to look at the PDF also. It has more info in it.

Wow, the information that is available if you know where to ask. You guys are the best. I was under the impression that the shoulder belts were relatively rare due to a post by another board member. I went back and checked and it was a 67 Camaro that he was talking about. Just wanted to know because a 68 parts/donor car I just bought has a complete set. I guess I'll save them for spares for my car. You know how it is...delusions of grandeur...lol. Thanks again, John.
