70 Z28 49K Miles, Rust Free M40 Auto

Just picked up a basically untouched 70 Z28 M40 Auto, rust free, 49K miles, with the following options:

LA built car, Citrus Green, 711 Interior, 03B Build Date
LT-1 Engine, CE replacement Block Dated D 8 1, casting 3970010
Original solid lift cam, screw in studs/guideplates
Original Deep groove pulleys, no smog pump, factory fan and clutch
Factory original Harrison radiator with tag.
Original intake, Holley Carb, and Distributor
M40 Turbo 400 Tranny, tagged 70 CW
COZ coded 3.73 12 bolt rear dated 03 03 G1, Eaton Posi
Original 837 Alternator
Original Spare Tire and Rim

I will be disassembling the car over the next few months. If anyone needs pictures of various components for restoration purposes, let me know. Aside from the engine, the remainder of parts on this car have never been apart.

Here are a few pics:

The car had been sitting since the mid 80's and has quite a few dirt dobber nests on various parts of the undercarriage.

Wow,that car looks pretty original!

Gotta love Citrus Green! Is it a RS car by any chance?
Good luck restoring it and let me know if you need any help...I've "been there-done that"!

Paul, nice car and colour combo. When you get around to repainting the car, don't use the rear stripes for reference.

Other than maybe the emblem placement, whats wrong with the rear stripes? Just curious for my own knowledge.

Re: 70 Z28 49K Miles, Rust Free M40 Auto

The car was repainted once in the early 80's. I don't think the stripes are correct per the assembly manual but I bought this car to be a nice driver and not a show car (not yet anyway).

I think I may slap some nice headers on, dual it out with a Dynomax 2-1/2" exhaust, clean it up and detail it, repaint the wheels, and go have some fun.
