Belair could put on a blue-haired little old lady getup and then go knock off roach-racer Hondas by the dozen.

There was one of these at the Sycamore IL show over the summer. Very cool!

I don't think Belair will have to use too much make-up,or a outfit to play the part...If all else fails he could sale it to Xplantdad as a back up to his ''' Bubble '''machine.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif......Kasey

Neat car. But for that "Buy It Now" price it should be more complete.

It does look good in general. Great sleeper look and it seems he's saying in the ad that it's an original L72 car with a Protect-O-Plate. As for what I saw and what jumped out at me...well, there's some pretty hard to find parts that it needs and if you find them you pay dearly. Off the top (pun intended if you want it to) it's missing the air cleaner, the idler pulley, the radiator is wrong and there's something funny about the intake. The pics are not great so it's tough to make out some of the detail. Since I last posted in this thread I emailed the seller for a picture of the Protect-O-Plate. He already sent them to me and this is where things really fall apart. I'm posting the pics here so you guys can see for yourselves. They are not great. I tried to zoom in, change image sizes and mess with filters, but my program is limited. Maybe one of you guys with PhotoShop maybe can manipluate them so we can zoom in with some detail. If you can, please post them.

The first thing I was looking for was the engine code. Looking at the metal plate, it would be the second line down on the RIGHT hand side. Remember, we're looking at it backwards which doesn't help, but the first character should be a "T" and the last 2 characters in the first part of that line should be "ID". It looks to me like it starts with an "F" and ends with "FA" or "FR". The "F" is Flint. If I could read the last to letters then I could decode them for sure. If that's right (FA, FR, etc) then it had a 250 6 cylinder in it. The body model number starts almost dead center in the top line, reading RIGHT to LEFT the first 5 digits looks to be "15311". Hmmmmm...15311 is for 2 door sedan Biscayne...6 cylinder! The transmission numbers are the 3rd line down on the RIGHT and you can see on the paper transfer "S0228". "S" would be for Saginaw 3 speed. Axle code starts with "DA", 3.08's. I don't think my eyes are that bad yet, but if somebody out there can get a nice clear zoom on these pics that would help. Otherwise all I can say is- https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif

Hmm...the purchaser name is interesting too. It would seem alot more likely Bessie Edna Baldwin would have piloted a 6 cylinder 3 speed rather that an L-72, unless Bessie was one of those "li'l old lady from Pasadena" types. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif
