12 bolt axle codes questions
I just yanked the 12 bolt out from under my Nova. I know that it is not stock for my car....so I looked up the code and here is what I came up with
BW 1227 G2 -----E---- The best I can decipher this is a 4.56 rear end built on 12 27 of 1967 or 1968 for a 68 or 69 camaro or nova. I know the E means eaton posi. Now for the questions... How rare was a 4.56 gear? How much is this worth compared to the run of the mill 12 bolts on Ebay that go for around $100? I will be selling it, I just want to know what I have before it hits ebay. Thanks for your reply |
Re: 12 bolt axle codes questions
I would think a true factory BW 4.56 rear axle would be worth a bit more than the usual 3.73 or 4.10 rear axle units. That's a pretty rare piece and it will be worth the extra money to the right person. I wonder how many factory BW rears CRG has in their database. Try going over to Camaro Research Group and see what they have to say.

Re: 12 bolt axle codes questions
Unfortunatly, I don't have the factory 4.56 gears. I do have a factory 4.11 set though.
