Corvette value

How much affect does a non-matching numbers engine have on a 1970 Corvette 454 4 speed?
I am thinking real hard about buying one locally but was curious how much this one point hurts the value of the car?
Form the pictures and the description, the car looks great.

Re: Corvette value

'70 454 cars are not worth much. We're not talking about the value difference between an original '67 L-71 and a NOM '67 L-71. I think if you're going to enjoy the car and not go NCRS with it, then there is no issue. Buy the Vette and drive it like you stole it... Maybe some modifications... day-2 Corvettes are hard to come by. But if you want to go the NCRS route, I would hope its the correct casting, CE block maybe or a blank pad motor.

If you want to send me pictures, I will let you know what I think.

but it an enjoy it, its not original so drive it into the ground then rebuild it. the $ depends on completeness of the car, paint, and if its in driving condition or does it need work to be road worthy.

Re: Corvette value

1970 model year is the only year of a high compression 454 engine. 1970 model is the second highest production at 4473 LS-5's built, 1971 is 5097 built and 1972 is 3913 built. LS-4's after that for model year '74 & 75.
I would guestimate that 5K difference is between NOM and original. More of a gap for convert vs coupe. With 500 ft lbs of torque, they lead over the '71's and '72's. This will be the most valuable of the 3 model years for sure.

This car looks very nice... Dave now knows what he needs to look for in order to bring her home.
The Shark could not be built to its current condition for the money the seller is asking.

Go get em Dave!
