70 Chevelle Rag Top SS
I have looked at several believed to be real/documented and even original sheet metal '70 SS Chevelle convertibles over the years that have had their rocker panels drilled for Malibu trim rocker mouldings. The holes seemed to have never been used.
I have also seen many recreations with these holes as well. Has anyone else documented this occurrence as Plant or time specific or even when the holes were drilled at the factory? Anyone have a no questions car with the holes? |
Re: 70 Chevelle Rag Top SS
Stefano,
I have not seen the rocker molding holes drilled but I have seen at least two converts (Van Nuys and Baltimore) with the upper trim holes were drilled and lead filled in both the doors and the quarters for malibu trim. One is a confirmed original sheet metal car the other had extensive body work done but still appeared to be original sheet metal. I know this does not directly answer your question but there may be some corrolation between the two. Rick |
Re: 70 Chevelle Rag Top SS
Very interesting, as one is a Van Nuys car and another Baltimore built.
