It's a '73 Grand-Am. . The '73 GTO had the same hood I think but the Lemans style snout. .

Pete...WOW! Thanks.

I learn something new every day on this site(a good thing)!

Whether I can retain that knowledge is a whole different deal! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

April 1972 Cars magazine touts 73 SD 455 GTO as car of the year www.abodysite.com/73sd455lit/html. I do beleive Pontiac made 3 but only made trans Ams and Formulas with that engine for the Gen. public. I think the Grand Am got the reg 455. Not sure what that car is ( home made etc ) Anybody else?

I'm no different in that respect Bruce....trying to retain any new stuff? . Seems only the old 'useless' stuff sticks anymore? .
I sometimes wonder if it should be blamed on the auto manufacturers as my memory retention started failing right around the same time they stopped making visable changes each model year? .
Back when us car kooks knew every car on the road even at night, the mind was sharp! .
Right around the time the manufacturers started sneaking in an extra year or two without changes, the mind started going soft? .
Now so many look alike brands and cars that are so un-interesting that who cares.....and the mind goes even weaker? .
So is it GM's fault I forgot my lunch today....or that I went to the store for milk last week in a t-shirt and boxers? .
Something to think about? .

The boys in our family would have a game every September on who could spot the most new cars when we were out with the family.

The only cars built with the SD were the Formula and Trans Am. Any Grand Ams and GTOs were not production cars.
