L78 engine pictures request
I just started detailing the engine compartment in my 69 L78/TH400 Camaro. Could really use some nice big pictures of unmolested original engine compartments, preferably with air cleaner removed. I know I saw at least one or two such pics in the past month but for the life of me can't find them now that I need them.
By the way, where the heck does the rear engine lift bracket bolt to? And is that thermostat cover supposed to be left natural or painted aluminum color? Thanks in advance. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
Re: L78 engine pictures request
Denis, I know you're asking about your Camaro....but I think that Sam Griffith has some from one of his L-78 Chevelles...Sam, you out there???

Re: L78 engine pictures request
For now, just need pics of thermostat housing (painted or natural), power steering pump & bracketry. Need to know where the rear rhs engine lift bracket bolts to near the distributor.

Re: L78 engine pictures request
Here is my mostly restored, some original 69 Camaro SS L-78 sans the L-89 Aluminum heads and orange engine brackets. I have since painted the brackets the correct silver color.
Sorry, no power steering on this one. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y86...6/DSCN3966.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y86...6/DSCN3967.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y86...6/DSCN3969.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y86...6/DSCN3855.jpg Here is a pic of a 68 Survivor L-78 Camaro with 18K or so miles. Notice the orange lift brackets. In 69, did they change to Silver? http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y86...6/68SSL783.jpg Low mile 70 Chevelle L-78: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y86...evelleL781.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y86...evelleL782.jpg Paul |
