Header Recomendations for 69 Z?
I am looking for header recomendations for the 69 Z... thinking about a period correct (Day 2) set... maybe white ceramic coated?

Re: Header Recomendations for 69 Z?
before you do white ceramic coated shoot Don a PM about them.
I put a set of Dynomax ceramic coated headers on my Z. They were cheap like $250 from Jegs. Have worked well so far. But one thing, they are not equal length. |

I like the look of the old flat white headers... weren't they painted back in the day?

Re: Header Recomendations for 69 Z?
Check with Jeff H. but I think he put Stahl headers on his Z/28. I understand they can make them with the open flanges to where they look like a factory style header and the quality is first rate. I have used Dougs headers in the past and I think they have very good quality and they have a period correct look to them.

Tough to beat White Alumacoated headers...so cool, tough to care for though...
Ceramics are the best but dont look period. |
Re: Header Recomendations for 69 Z?
Stahls are good headers but way to expensive. After you get them from Stahl you have to get them coated. I like Hooker Supercomp's. Talk to Frank Arone about header paint. His white headers look good on his COPO and he knows a guy that coats them. Flat white or black was the color back then. I had a set of yellow Hedmans for my first set on my SS nova. Re: Header Recomendations for 69 Z?
If you are asking for a recommendation on color, I would say black as that was the color that they usually were painted back then. It would be interesting to find out who can coat them in that color in a ceramic type product. Also I think that someone has reproduced the factory style 67 and 68 Douglas and Kustom headers. But that doesn't help you much for a 69.
