1976 Dealer Parts Counter....What was available?

Hi. I have a 1976 Chevy Nova, (yeah I know that hardly anybody likes them, but I do and thats all that counts https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif), anyway, Im restoring it and I want to do something very different. I'd like to do it as an SS clone but I want it to seem as though the dealer tuned it.

theoreticly, could one go to the chevy parts counter in 1976 and order the following succsessfully:

a ZL1 bare block,
L88 heads,
M22 Muncie 4 speed gearbox,

These are the building block of which id like to base my project. If anyone can help, it would be appriciated.

Thanks in advance,
Kevin

NOVA7579 on this board (the same name on e-pay) is heavily into that body style or era Novas.

I'll bet he has some original parts you might want.
