Re: speedo making noise??
I put a new lubed cable in our '72 Lemans. Turns out the noise is in the head itself. I'm going to try some spray in the back of the head and see if that works.

Re: speedo making noise??
A buddy of mine here is Flemington, NJ runs a Shell station that caters to old cars. He has the exact tool you are talking about. He was a mechanic on all these cars back in the early 70's and never got rids of his old tools. The contraption has its own reservoir and is powered by a portable drill. It connects to the speedo cable flange and spins the cable while it injects the lube under light pressure. I can put you in touch with him if you are close (I see you're in PA). He loves working on the old stuff.
